Chief Broadcast Engineer – Full-time

KTSF is seeking a full-time Chief Broadcast Engineer who can understand and work with a modern computerized infrastructure; Responsible for planning of systems, equipment selection, installation, operation, and maintenance of all sophisticated electronic equipment associated with a broadcast television station; and ensures rapidly changing technology supports the mission of the Company. The job requires varied shifts including nights, weekends, and being on call. Maintenance and operation of broadcasting equipment including microwave relay sites, towers, generators, satellite uplink and receive systems, signal distribution, routing systems, processing systems, archive, TCP/IP networks, monitoring devices, automation systems, camera systems, production switchers, playout servers, graphics devices, lighting systems, audio consoles, microphones, and IFB etc. is required. Transmitter skills are not required. Works closely with other KTSF departments in providing technical support including special events. Since 1976, KTSF continues to be the leader in Asian language programming in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Political Sales Coordinator – Full Time

Sales Account Executives – Full Time

The San Francisco Bay Area’s leader in Asian Language Television is seeking Account Executives to develop new business and service existing advertisers. The ideal candidate is energetic, positive and goal-oriented. Must be highly-organized and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidate will be computer/internet proficient, have a valid driver’s license, and have the ability to work as part of a team. Previous advertising sales experience and college education is a plus. Language proficiency in Chinese is a plus.

News Production Assistant – Part Time

KTSF is seeking a part time Production Assistant who is responsible for ensuring the continuity of work flow and communications regarding the production of the live Cantonese and Mandarin language newscasts. Responsibilities includes: Inputting information in ENPS rundown. Knowledge of non-linear editing; produce news teases with good production value. Maintaining accuracy and balance in all content being produced especially teases. Strong time-management skills: Ability to meet pressing deadlines, collect information, gather resources in a timely manner, check for accuracy including but not limited to story information, sponsorship, commercial breaks, back-timing of program. Logging and recording news source from KPIX. It is critical that the P.A. verify daily use of free-lance videographers used by KPIX. If KTSF needs such footage, P.A. contacts free-lance immediately with request for an invoice. Assist in monitoring total running time (TRT) during live broadcast; update director, producer, crew. At all times, this job requires timely and accurate communication prior, during and after the live production with all departments involved in producing the news. News Director may assign training of new staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements include: Fluent in English and Chinese. Excellent interpersonal skills. Majored in mass communication or production. Ability to meet critical deadlines. Reliable transportation to/from work. Basic computer literacy including web, social media. No Calls. EOE.

KTSF-TV offers internships to college and university students who major in Broadcasting, Communications, Journalism and Human Resources Management. Internships are unpaid and require enrollment in an academic internship program. We reimburse commuting expenses at a rate of $15.00 per day.
