Master Control TECHNICIAN – On Call

Job Summary:
The MC Technician ensures continuity of broadcast signals in accordance with the Program log or Automation System (Oasys) schedule. This requires aural and visual observation skills coupled with proper response in case of equipment malfunction.

Job Details:
1) Competently set-up, record, process and play-out various audio/video formats used for broadcasting inclusive of satellite and field remote feeds, program suppliers and other program sources.
2) Operates audio equipment and systems during live Newscast and any locally produced programs.
3) Performs monitoring, logging and execution of airings of EAS, closed-captioning and other FCC compliance requirements.
4) Performs tasks needed to successfully prepare program packages ready for airing.
5) Performs other tasks that may be required by the MC Supervisor and the Chief Engineer.

Requirements:
1) Must be authorized to work in the USA
2) Must be physically fit to do the tasks
3) Able to adjust to changing priorities in Studio operations.
4) Must be willing to work in shifts and be on-call as needed
5) Good attention to details
6) Able and willing to learn new systems and follow procedures
7) Good computer skills
8) Preferably with background in TV production and/ or education in electronics

Broadcast Program Data Input/Video Editing – Full-time

KTSF TV is seeking a bi-lingual person to fill the following: 1) Creating TV station’s daily program log by entering and updating program data; coordination with sales and programming departments as needed. Basic proficiency with Excel and Word, excellent organizational and English communication skills. 2) Video editing. Working knowledge of digital video editing preferred. Sales Account Executives – Full Time

The San Francisco Bay Area’s leader in Asian Language Television is seeking Account Executives to develop new business and service existing advertisers. The ideal candidate is energetic, positive and goal-oriented. Must be highly-organized and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Candidate will be computer/internet proficient, have a valid driver’s license, and have the ability to work as part of a team. Previous advertising sales experience and college education is a plus. Language proficiency in Chinese is a plus.

Production Assistant (Graphics) – Part Time

KTSF is seeking a part-time Production Assistant (Graphics) to develop graphics for live, in-language evening newscasts, promo spots and other programming. Requires problem-solving Solves with Graphics Supervisor to insure quality of on air image. Responsibilities: Develops on-line computer-aided design elements using Chinese character generators and Chinese input method. Creates graphics with PC using Photoshop, Inscriber and related graphics software. Organizes list of names, location, weather and sports information for News, Programming and other departments as directed. Plays back graphics during live newscasts. Creative problem-solving under the pressure of a live newscast and other deadlines. May perform other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Communication or equivalent preferred. Two years of experience creating graphics using Chinese character generators and Chinese input method required. Proficiency in reading/writing English and Chinese required. Strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills. Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to work professionally with all levels. KTSF is seeking a part time Production Assistant who is responsible for ensuring the continuity of work flow and communications regarding the production of the live Cantonese and Mandarin language newscasts. Responsibilities includes: Inputting information in ENPS rundown. Knowledge of non-linear editing; produce news teases with good production value. Maintaining accuracy and balance in all content being produced especially teases. Strong time-management skills: Ability to meet pressing deadlines, collect information, gather resources in a timely manner, check for accuracy including but not limited to story information, sponsorship, commercial breaks, back-timing of program. Logging and recording news source from KPIX. It is critical that the P.A. verify daily use of free-lance videographers used by KPIX. If KTSF needs such footage, P.A. contacts free-lance immediately with request for an invoice. Assist in monitoring total running time (TRT) during live broadcast; update director, producer, crew. At all times, this job requires timely and accurate communication prior, during and after the live production with all departments involved in producing the news. News Director may assign training of new staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements include: Fluent in English and Chinese. Excellent interpersonal skills. KTSF-TV offers internships to college and university students who major in Broadcasting, Communications, Journalism and Human Resources Management. Internships are unpaid and require enrollment in an academic internship program. We reimburse commuting expenses at a rate of $15.00 per day.
