With its agreement effective in January 2005, KTSF became the first Asian media outlet in the United States to provide its clients data from Nielsen Media Research. With Local People Meter (LPM) available in the San Francisco market, KTSF has access to daily household and demographic information. What we have seen at KTSF with LPM data is primetime viewership levels that compare favorably with the Hispanic broadcasters and even some network affiliates. Some of the key findings from Nielsen include the following:
- Chinese Newscasts (M-F 7:00pm, 10:00pm, 12:00am) During 2011, an average of 101,000 people per night watched KTSF Chinese news programming.
- KTSF Dramas (M-F 8:00pm-10:00pm) in 2011, KTSF reached more than 97,000 viewers with its weeknight Chinese-language dramas acquired from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea.
- KTSF News at 7 ranked No.1 Early Night Newscast* in Persons 18-49 in San Francisco DMA.(Nielsen Media Research Live+SD-Year 2011,P18-49 Program Average.
