紅木城議會將在3月11號投票，決定是否實行環保袋法例，假如通過，將會在4月25號生效。
法例建議，除了餐館和非牟利機構，其他零售商一律不准用一次性的塑料袋。顧客可以用一毛買紙袋，到2015年，就要付兩毛半。
灣區很多城市都已經實施塑料袋禁令。聖馬刁縣禁令是在去年11月通過，禁令將在4月22號生效。
致上週，Belmont, Colma, Daly City, Foster City, Menlo Park, Pacifica, Portola Valley, San Bruno, San Carlos and South San Francisco都已經通過禁令。
據聖馬刁縣的估計，加州一年使用200億個一次性的塑料袋，大部分會送到堆填區，或變成街上垃圾。
