Shark fin contains proteins and when it's boiled with white meat, the nutritional value is even higher. Shark fin, which is mild in nature is tolerated by most people. Under doctor's recommendation, it can also be used as a type of supplement or medication although patients will need a certain amount on a regular basis. A nutritionist at California Pacific Medical Center reminds pregnant women not to eat shark fin because it contains mercury, which could lead to miscarriages.
