The 5th Annual Asian Health Symposium for Healthcare Professionals only

The Asian Health Institute cordially invites all healthcare professionals to attend this annual symposium which aims to focus on diseases that affect the Asian community most. The Symposium will be held on August 26 and 27 at the UCSF Laurel Heights Conference Center (3333 California St, SF).

The Symposium covers a variety of areas in internal medicine, including cardiovascular diseases, cancers, infectious diseases, and other topics and was expertly crafted with a steering committee consisting of UCSF faculty as well as expert physician leaders from Kaiser Permanente and the Chinese community: Gordon Fung, MD, MPH, PhD; Diana Lau, PhD, RN, CNS; Peter Chin-Hong, MD; Andrew Ko, MD; Anthony Kim, MD; Randall Low, MD; Don Ng, MD; and Anne Tang, MD. UCSF staff and faculty will receive a discounted attendance fee. All healthcare professional students with a current student ID may contact Jane Brooks to register (jane.brooks@ucsf.edu).

This is a CME activity which meets continuing education requirements for 12.75 CMA PRA Category 1 credits (accepted by the following licensing boards: Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Physician Assistants, and Geriatrics).

Diabetes Conference for Healthcare Professionals only

The National Council of Asian Pacific Islander Physicians will hold a conference on Diabetes and Obesity in Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders Reducing Disparities Through Research, Advocacy, and Policy at the Hilton Hotel in the Financial District¬, San Francisco, California on August 26-27, 2016. This program is part of the targeted activities for the Screen at 23 Campaign to promote the screening for diabetes and pre-diabetes in Asians using a body mass index of 23, instead of 25. This is program does not give CME credits.
