Get eye to eye with a butterfly in the exhibit Butterflies & Blooms at the Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park. The popular exhibit has been extended by overwhelming demand until January 7, 2018. The Special Exhibit gallery has been transformed into a beautiful and intimate cottage garden aflutter with hundreds of butterflies on the wing including magnificent monarchs, western swallowtails, painted ladies, and more.

The Butterfly Bungalow at the entrance to the gallery also allows you to observe the pupae in their chrysalis stage. You never know, you may be lucky enough to catch the moment when one of these delicate beauties emerges.

San Francisco Trolley Dances returns with performances from the city’s South of Market to Golden Gate Park. An annual, admission-free festival that takes place each October, SFTD has been dubbed “art for citizens” and “a gift to the City.” A total of 12 tours are scheduled over the weekend, six each day starting at 11am, 11:45am, 12:30pm, 1:15pm, 2pm and 2:45pm. Each tour runs approximately two hours. This year, audiences will get a taste of traditional Tibetan folk dance and music, dance theater, contact improvisation, hip hop, taiko drumming and much more.

ARMENIAN FOOD FESTIVAL: OCTOBER 21 -22, 2017 in San Francisco

The 75th St. John Armenian Church’s Food Festival will be held Saturday, October 21, 12 noon – 9pm, and Sunday, 12 noon – 3pm at the Church Hall, 275 Olympia Way in San Francisco;

旅美舞蹈家蔡福麗原是上海歌劇院的舞蹈演員。自來美後,蔡福麗於一九八八年在舊金山創辦了蔡福麗舞蹈團。蔡福麗結合中國古典舞,西方芭蕾舞和現代舞創立了獨豎一格的中國女性現代舞蹈。 在多年的努力和建樹下,她成功地在美國主流社會中傳播中國舞蹈藝術。作為華人,她已成為在美國舞蹈界的重要代表。
蔡福麗曾多次榮獲聯邦藝術基金會,洛克菲勒基金會,詹姆斯歐文基金會,加州藝術委員會,舊金山藝術委員會,沙加緬度藝術委員會,灣區舞蹈基金會和創作基金等各種機構頒發的委約獎,創作獎和藝術家成就獎。 並在一九九六和二零一六年,兩次獲得著名的鄧肯舞蹈獎的编舞和表演奖。

Community Music Day is Crowden’s annual FREE musical carnival for the entire family. Join Crowden, SF Chamber Orchestra, SFGirls Chorus, and East Bay Music Together for a day of musical fun and exploration!

Kids and adults alike touch and learn to make sounds on the instruments of a symphony orchestra in our huge “Instrument Petting Zoo.” SF Chamber Orchestra performs Very First Concerts for wriggly toddlers, with repeat performances of “Big, Bold, Brass!” at 10:40, 11:20, and 12:00pm. The celebration also includes instrument making, class demos, face painting, and musical performances for kids, by kids all day. Every child receives a special prize at Community Music Day. On Sunday, October 22, 2017 we kick off our season in style with an unusual instrument combination-cello and classical guitar-featuring Angela Lee and Marc Teicholz. They will perform works by Christoph Schaffrath, Franz Schubert, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Radames Gnattali and Antonio Carlos Jobim.

Lightwire Theater presents “Moon Mouse”, a cosmic adventure about celebrating differences.

Marvin the Mouse wants to be popular. Constantly bullied and picked on by the “cool” rats, he is labeled as a loser and a geek. As respite, Marvin retreats into his science books and a world of fantasy. He longs to have adventures and be the hero.

Join Marvin on the space adventure of a lifetime: a trip to the surface of the moon on his homemade rocket. There he meets a strange cast of misfit creatures, learns of infinite peril and views awesome beauty. Will Marvin make his dreams come true and experience the glory and acceptance he craves?

The show will be performed at 4:30 PM and 6:15 PM.
