Walnut Creek: Female suspect robs taxi driver


Police are searching for a female suspect in connection with the robbery of a taxi driver Thursday morning in Walnut Creek, police said.

At about 8:24 a.m. Thursday, police received a report that a woman had robbed a taxi driver on Treat Boulevard near the intersection with Bancroft Road.

The suspect is described as a white woman who is about 21 to 25 years old, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 120 pounds.

She had long blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail and was wearing a blue pullover hooded sweatshirt, black stretch pants and had a black backpack at the time of the robbery, according to police.

The taxi driver picked up the suspect as a fare in Walnut Creek, police said.

According to police, no weapon was used in the robbery. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot from the taxi. She headed north on Bancroft Road from Treat Boulevard, police said.
