(BCN) A man reported to Daly City police this week that his laptop had been stolen from his car earlier this month.

Police on Thursday released images of the possible thieves taken by software installed on the laptop.

The computer was taken from the trunk of the man’s car on Oct. 1, Daly City police Lt. David Mackriss said.

The MacBook computer was taken sometime between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. while the victim was at the Serramonte Center shopping mall, Mackriss said.

The victim reported the theft on Oct. 5 after he had obtained video and an approximate location of those who were using his computer, Mackriss said.

The photos show two people who initially had the computer after the theft and then an Asian male who was photographed using the computer a few days later at a different location.

Mackriss said the victim had also been in Colma and San Francisco before he realized the computer was gone, so it is not certain where the theft occurred. If anyone recognizes the people using the computer they are asked to call Daly City police at (650) 991-8119.
