Police are searching for three suspects in connection with a home invasion robbery in Union City on Monday afternoon.

At about 2 p.m., police received a report of a home invasion robbery in the Kitiyama neighborhood in Union City.

Two suspects forced their way inside a residence as an elderly man was shutting the front door after returning home from a walk, police said.

Once inside the home, the first suspect pushed the elderly man and elderly woman to the floor. The first suspect forcefully took jewelry off of the elderly woman, according to police.

The second suspect located a young man who was locked inside a bedroom. The suspect then struck him over the head with a gun and forced him onto the ground, police said.

The second suspect then ransacked the room and stole additional property, police said.

The suspects then ran from the house to a waiting vehicle.

According to witnesses, the suspects got into a newer model silver vehicle, possibly a BMW or an Audi sedan, with a tinted back window and chrome rims, according to police.

The vehicle was last seen traveling on Medallion Drive, past Kitiyama Elementary School, police said.

The first suspect is described as a black or Hispanic male, between 19 and 20 years old, of unknown height and with a thin build, police said.

The suspect managed to conceal most of his face during the robbery and was armed with a handgun, police said.

The second suspect is described as a dark skinned male, about 20 years old, standing at about 5 feet 11 inches with a thin build. He was wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt at the time of the robbery and was armed with a handgun, according to police.

No suspect description has been released for the getaway driver, police said.
