Napa police arrested one woman for stabbing her mother and another woman for assaulting and threatening to kill her mother in separate incidents on Monday.
Teresa Marie Henderson, 28, of Napa, called police at 7:23 p.m. to report that she had stabbed her mother, Capt. Jeff Troendly said.
Henderson again told police officers and sheriff’s deputies she stabbed her mother when they arrived at a residence in the 3200 block of Von Uhlit Ranch Road in Napa.
Officers found a 75-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds in the neck area. She was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center for surgery and she was listed in stable condition Tuesday, Troendly said.
Police arrested Henderson for attempted murder, elder abuse with great bodily injury, and a violation of probation. She was booked in the Napa County Detention Center, Troendly said.
At 10:40 p.m. Monday, Napa police responded to a report of an assault in a residence in the 80 block of Arboreo Street in Napa where a 76-year-old woman said she was assaulted and choked by her daughter who was visiting her, Troendly said.
The daughter, identified as 47-year-old Terra Dukes of Napa, pushed and threw her mother against the walls of the house, dragged her by the hair and threatened to kill her, Troendly said.
When the elderly woman tried to call 9-1-1 for help, her daughter took away the phone, Troendly said.
The elderly woman was treated at the scene and at Queen of the Valley Hospital before she was released, Troendly said.
Dukes left the residence before police arrived and was arrested when she returned home, Troendly said.
She was booked in the Napa County Detention Center for causing harm to an elder, dependant adult, threatening a crime with intent to terrorize and damaging or destroying a wireless communications device, Troendly said.
