A bizarre scuffle between a topless woman and a mall security guard played out inside Penn Square Mall.
The incident was caught on camera.
It was quite a sight for mall goers on Saturday as they watched a completely shirtless woman and a mall security officer wrestle around on the ground.
“Quit fighting me,” the security guard tells the woman.
It is a busy Saturday afternoon at Penn Square, and this is what was happening on the second floor in front of a growing crowd.
“Let me breathe,” the woman said. “I have asthma.”
“I don’t care,” said the security officer. “Quit moving.”
The woman is accused of shoplifting and is approached by security.
The confrontation escalated to the woman ending up topless and wrestling with the security guard on the ground.
Her bare chest is exposed to everyone who walks by.
“Handcuff me,” she said. “Let me up.”
“No. Quit fighting,” the security officer said.
Almost immediately people start getting out their cell phones and capturing the shirtless showdown including the person who captured this video.
The man who shot it walked outside Dillard’s and saw a nearly naked brawl between the topless woman and the security guard.
“I need assistance up here in front of Dillard’s now,” the officer said.
Witnesses say the security officer called for back up twice.
After several minutes you can see an Oklahoma City police officer appear.
The police report states the woman, Heather Lynn Hall, had gone into The Buckle clothing store and tried to shoplift merchandise and hide it inside a Dillard’s bag.
You can see the bag in the video.
We’re told the woman holding it is the store manager of The Buckle.
The shoplifting attempt lead to the wrestling match.
The woman is wearing a wrap or shawl.
The article of clothing is torn off and put back on several times during the scuffle as the woman finagles her way out of her clothes and tries to break free.
“I can not breathe,” she tells the officer.
According to police, Hall has a history of larceny.
The report states the woman told police she blames her shoplifting on a drug problem and says people should be understanding of her mental condition.
“It’s going to get worse,” the security guard said.
Hall was eventually put into handcuffs and taken to the Oklahoma County Jail.
NewsChannel 4 contacted Penn Square Mall.
They say they maintain a zero tolerance policy of inappropriate behavior and are cooperating with police.
However, mall officials did not answer any specific questions about the incident.
Police tell NewsChannel 4 the topless woman kicked the security guard several times, and he does have the right to defend himself.
They say if a security officer is not CLEET certified, they have the same authority as everyone else to make a citizen’s arrest and detain someone until police arrive.
