(Synopsis) According to the political consulting firm Redistricting Partners, Chinatown, Visitation Valley and Excelsior districts in San Francisco have seen high turnout rates.
In Chinatown, nearly 80% of voters who requested mail ballots have mailed back their ballots. The turnout rate is 32% higher than average.
In Visitation Valley, where the Asian population has been on the rise, the percentage of mail in ballots is 18% higher than the city on average.
In the Excelsior, home to a large number of new immigrants, mail in ballots are 12% higher.
The City has mailed out 210,000 mail in ballots and the average turnout rate is 47%.
