Student accused of lighting teacher on fire

A eighth grade student in Baton Rouge, Louisiana was arrested and expelled after police say he lit a substitute teacher’s burqa on fire, in early October.

The Westdale Middle School substitute told investigators just moments before the incident, she had reprimanded the student for misbehaving.

Police say that’s when the 14-year-old lit her burqa on fire with a cigarette lighter.

The school drug task force took the teen into custody.

He was charged with aggravated assault on a school teacher and booked into juvenile detention.

The sub was treated at the middle school and is ok.
