South San Francisco attempted armed robbery

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)

South San Francisco police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred Sunday night at the Westborough Park baseball field.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., two suspects approached two South San Francisco residents at the park, located at 2500 Westborough Blvd.

One suspect brandished a knife at the victims and demanded they hand over their personal belongings, according to police. A physical fight ensued, and one of the victims sustained minor, non-life threatening
injuries.

According to police, the suspects did not take any property from the victims and fled the scene on foot. They were last seen running toward a nearby school.

Police have described both suspects as African American males, approximately 20 to 25 years old with slender builds.

One suspect was described by police as approximately 6’2″ with short hair and was last seen wearing a black ski mask, blue jeans and a white sweatshirt with a multi-colored hood. The second suspect was described as approximately 5’10″ with longer hair braided into “corn-rows” and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark blue hooded sweatshirt.
