SJ man killed in highway 280 crash is identified

A man who was killed in a crash on Interstate Highway 280 in Los Altos on Sunday afternoon has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office as 53-year-old San Jose resident David Sena.

At around 12:10 p.m., Sena was driving south on Highway 280 in a Ford pickup truck when he lost control and struck a guardrail on the right shoulder just north of Foothill Expressway, California Highway Patrol Officer Art Montiel said.

The Ford then veered to the left across several lanes of traffic and struck the center divide, Montiel said.

No other vehicles appeared to have been involved, Montiel said.

Sena was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and Montiel said Sunday that it had not yet been determined whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
