SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)
A teenage girl was struck and killed by an alleged drunken driver near San Francisco’s Stern Grove on Saturday night, police said Monday.
The collision was reported at about 11:20 p.m. at Sloat Boulevard and Vale Avenue.
The victim, identified by the medical examiner’s office as 17-year-old Henren Chang, was walking north across Sloat when she was struck by a westbound car, police spokesman Officer Gordon Shyy said.
Chang, a San Francisco resident, was dragged a short distance by the vehicle. She was taken to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead, Shyy said.
The driver of the car, identified as Kieran Brewer, 29, stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and felony DUI.
