SF: Suspect injured man in Inner Mission shooting

SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)

Police are engaged in a standoff with a shooting suspect who injured a man in San Francisco’s Mission District Tuesday morning, police said.

At about 4:35 a.m. the victim, who was suffering from at least one gunshot wound, called 911 and reported that he had been shot and needed assistance.

As of about 5:30 a.m., police were hunting for the gunman believed to be inside a building in the 2400 block of Bryant Street near 22nd Street.

Officers are clearing the residence, located about two blocks from San Francisco General Hospital, and are attempting to take the suspect into custody.

The victim was transported to a hospital and is in stable condition Tuesday morning, according to police.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
