The Friends of the San Francisco Public Library kicked off its 47th Annunal Big Book Sale which starts today with a member preview and continues to Sunday, September 25th.

The event takes place at Fort Mason Center’s Festival Pavilion and features over 500,000 books, DVDs, CDs, books on tape, vinyl and other forms of media,. There’s 10,000 boxes of materials covering 50+ categories with over 400 volunteers.

Everything is $4 or less and items on Sunday are $1. All proceeds from the Big Book Sale benefit the San Francisco Public Library’s literacy programs for children, teens and adults. The Big Book Sale is free and open to the public.

Tues. Sept. 20
4 – 8 p.m. (Members Preview & Reception)

Wed. Sept. 21
10 a.m. -8 p.m.

Thur. Sept. 22
10 a.m. -8 p.m.

Fri. Sept. 23
10 a.m. -8 p.m.

Sat. Sept. 24
10 a.m. -8 p.m.

Sun. Sept. 25
10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (All materials $1 or less)

Children’s books are $1 or less every day of the sale and ALL books are $1 on Sunday.
