SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)
San Francisco police fatally shot a suspect in the Mission District during a robbery investigation on Tuesday night, police reported Wednesday.
Two armed robbery victims flagged down a police car at 20th and Capp streets at about 10:36 p.m. in the Mission District, police said.
Using a vehicle description provided by the victims, police located a black Honda Civic on Capp Street between 21st and 22nd streets.
Police ordered the suspects out of the car, and the driver and another suspect were detained.
Police saw one more suspect in the open trunk of the car, and shot the suspect while attempting to detain the person, police said.
The suspect died on the scene, according to police, even after police administered medical aid and emergency responders arrived in an ambulance.
Police found a handgun in the trunk of the vehicle, and the two detained suspects were transported to Mission police station for interviews.
Several agencies are conducting an ongoing investigation.
Police said they will hold a town hall meeting about the officer involved shooting within 10 days. More information will be released when it becomes available, according to police.
