On Oct. 14 at about 7 p.m., police responded to the 400 block of North San Mateo Drive where two San Mateo residents were walking on the sidewalk when a man stepped in front of them and told them to stop.

Police said the man pointed a gun at them and demanded their property.

The man took some of their property and ran out of view.

Police described the man as Hispanic, in his 30s, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and 130 to 150 pounds.

Police said the suspect was last seen in a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Police are asking anyone with information about the robbery or the suspect to get in touch with Detective John Rink Jr. at (650) 522-7617 or at jcrink@cityofsanmateo.org.
