San Jose police investigate death of 7-month old boy


An infant death overnight that was being investigated by San Jose police appears to have been accidental, a police spokesman said Tuesday.

The 7-month-old baby boy died while sleeping in South San Jose early Tues morning, police Sgt. Jason Dwyer said. There is no evidence of foul play, he said.

Police received a 911 call around 1:15 a.m. about a non-responsive infant at a home in the 5300 block of Makati Circle near the Blossom Hill Caltrain station.

The boy was deceased when officers arrived, police said.

Police will not be releasing any additional information about the case, Dwyer said.

Upon arrival, officers found the deceased boy. The cause of the boy’s death is not known and remains under investigation, police said.

No arrests have been made in connection with the incident and police said it is too early to tell if there was foul play.
