San Jose: 84 year-old pedestrian fatally struck


A male pedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle Monday morning in San Jose has been identified as 84-year-old Qianyu Wu, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.

Wu, a San Jose resident, was struck around 10:30 a.m. Monday near the intersection of North King Road and East St. James Street.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to San Jose police Sgt. Heather Randol.

The driver cooperated with investigators and drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been factors in the crash, Randol said.
