San Diego-area man arrested in undercover child sex abuse sting

A San Diego-area man was arrested on suspicion of child sex abuse and pornography after contacting an undercover agent online and trying to arrange to have sex with minors in Morgan Hill, police said today.

Stephen Lewis, 21, of Oceanside, was arrested Saturday during a multi-agency probe involving Morgan Hill police, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the Silicon Valley Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Morgan Hill police said.

Lewis allegedly communicated online with an undercover agent working with the law enforcement group and agreed to travel to Morgan Hill to have sex with a male person’s two minor children, police said.

Once Lewis made it to the rendezvous point and time, Morgan Hill police officers took him into custody on suspicion of illegally meeting a minor to engage in lewd and lascivious behavior and possession of child pornography, police said.

Officers booked Lewis into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose, police said.
