Ridgecrest Police have released the 911 dispatch calls of an early morning shooting that led to a deadly car chase and shootout that left two people, including the gunman, dead.

The Bakersfield Californian (http://bit.ly/1dSp6XW ) released the roughly 9 minutes of audio Thursday. In it a woman tells police that she hears shots being fired next door and someone screaming for help. Simultaneously there’s a second call from Thaddeus Meier who tells dispatchers he and his girlfriend have been shot by Sergio Munoz, and that his girlfriend Brittany Matheny is dying.

Munoz, with two hostages in his trunk, led officers on a wild chase Oct. 25 after killing Matheny and injuring Meier, who had refused to join Munoz in an allegedly final rampage against police and “snitches.”
