Oakland police today asked for the public’s help in tracking down a person of interest in connection with a shooting in the city earlier this month.
The shooting was reported on the evening of Jan. 15 near Dover and Aileen streets, about a block from Shattuck Avenue, police said.
Police responded to calls about numerous gunshots in the area and a ShotSpotter alert.
No one was injured or killed in the shooting, police said.
During their investigation, police conducted a probation search at a home in the 5500 block of Dover Street and arrested 26-year-old Lemmle Kelly on an outstanding felony warrant, according to police.
Police said the home where Kelly was arrested is known for gun violence and other activities. Police believe residents or frequent visitors at the home are connected with the Jan. 15 shooting.
Police today released a photo of someone described only as a person of interest in the shooting.
Anyone with information about the person’s identity is asked to call Oakland police at (510) 777-3333 or the department’s felony assault unit at (510) 238-3326. Calls should refer to report No. 13-066264.
