OAKLAND (BCN)

Police are seeking information from the public about a sideshow-related shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in the Acorn Industrial area of Oakland.

At about 4:15 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 2500 block of Middle Harbor Road that appears to have happened after two cars involved in an illegal sideshow activity collided, police said.

The occupants of the two cars got into a verbal dispute and then shots were fired, police said.

The people involved in the altercation fled before police arrived and no shooting victims were located, police said.

Police have released video footage of the incident and are hoping members of the public will come forward with additional information. The video shows young men kicking and jumping on a car. There are sounds of glass breaking, a female screaming and then shots fired.

Citizens with additional video footage are encouraged to share the footage with police.

Anyone who can help identify participants in Saturday’s shooting are urged to contact police at (510) 238-7959 or call the toll-free tip line at (855) 847-7247.
