A pedestrian in Vallejo was fatally struck and then dragged under a vehicle on Tuesday evening, police said.
At 6:06 p.m. police received a report of a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the 1900 block of Broadway Street, near Tuolumne Street.
Three minutes later police received a second report that a person was trapped under a vehicle at Stanford and Mini drives, almost a mile away.
Officers arrived at both locations and determined the incidents were related.
Based on the preliminary investigation, police said a vehicle was traveling north in the left lane of Broadway Street when it struck a male
A second vehicle, traveling north in the right lane of Broadway Street unknowingly struck the pedestrian, trapping him under the vehicle.
The driver of the second vehicle continued driving for almost a mile to the area of Mini and Stanford drives, at which time citizens flagged down the driver and told him that a person was trapped beneath his vehicle.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family, police said.
