Oakland voters decide parcel tax measure

(KTSF by Angelina Wong) Tuesday night at  8 ‘o clock  is the deadline for Oakland voters to cast their mail-in ballots to decide on Measure I.  If the measure is approved, a five-year $80 per-parcel tax will be levied in order to generate $11 million annually to provide funding for restoring certain city services. This includes fire, police services and technology, youth violence preventionj, library services, parks and recreation, and street repair.  The tax measure would need a two-thirds majority vote to pass.  If you are a voter and have not mailed back your ballot, you must summit the ballot in person to the Alameda County Registrar of Voters located at 1225 Fallon Street in Oakland.  http://www.acgov.org/rov/
