Oakland police are investigating a murder that occurred on MacArthur Boulevard this morning — the city’s second killing in four hours, police said.
Officers were called to the 6300 block of MacArthur Boulevard, a few blocks from Mills College, at 9:28 a.m.
They found the victim, a man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man was detained in connection with the incident, according to police.
Police said the death was not a shooting.
Earlier Thursdays morning, at 5:32 a.m., police were called to the 9800 block of A Street, near International Boulevard, in response to a shooting.
The victim in that case was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither victim’s name has been released.
