Oakland City Council members voted unanimously to pump $350 million into a plan to redevelop the Oakland Coliseum. Under the proposal, a new ‘Stadium City’ will be built on the 750-acre site, including a brand new coliseum
The Oakland A’s and the Raiders will have their leases with the City expire next year. The A’s are considering a move  to San Jose while the Raiders are considering a move to Santa Clara or Los Angeles. The Warriors are also being courted to cross the bay to relocate to San Francisco.
City officials are confident that with ideal weather, public transportation and an increasing population, the City is in good position to keep the three teams in Oakland. They are also hoping to draw private investors to come on board which includes developing a piece of land nearby into a hub for technology firms.
