Hellas Leung joined the KTSF news team in July, 2000, as a newswriter. After a short time, she began working as a reporter and interviewed well-known individuals including actor Tony Leung, Andy Lau, singer Sam Hui, the band "Wynners," and tennis player Michael Chang. Following the 2005 terrorist attack in London, she provided live coverage for KTSF.

At KTSF, Ms. Leung was also anchor and editor for the show "Hong Kong Weekly." When the weekend news program was launched in March, 2006, she worked as a reporter reporting and currently has her own segment called "Oh Really," which answers interesting questions. She is a back-up for the positions of anchor, producer and assignment editor.

Ms. Leung's work has been recognized by her peers including by the Northern California Chinese Media Association where she was nominated for "best news reporting" with her story about an immigrant from Hong Kong in 1997. Her series "Bay Area Fun", which introduces good places for fun, received a nomination in the best feature category in the same year. In another year, Ms. Leung received "best news reporting" award from the same organziation.

Hellas Leung came to the United States as a foreign student in 1994. Her studies included working as an intern for Sing Tao Chinese Radio in addition to being a reporter for "Observer," a neighborhood newspaper in San Francisco. In May, 2000, she graduated from San Francisco State University with double bacherlor's degrees in journalism and psychology. She received "the most reliable reporter award", which was determined by the editors of the school newspaper "Golden Gater." Ms. Leung is now studying Spanish and the law, with the goal of producing more educational features for the local audience.
