MOUNTAIN VIEW (BCN)
Mountain View police arrested two men after an attempted kidnapping in the city’s downtown area early Saturday morning.
Police said the men approached a woman who was walking behind a business in the 200 block of Castro Street at 2 a.m.
The men allegedly tried to push the woman into a nearby vehicle, but the woman yelled and fought back.
One of the suspects went to the car and allegedly retrieved a handgun, police said, while two male friends of the victim arrived and tried to intervene.
Police said the suspect with the handgun pointed the weapon at one of the men before the victim was able to get away.
The two suspects then got into a car, fled away from the scene and allegedly fired off several rounds of ammunition as they left.
Officers who were responding to the scene stopped two men in a car shortly after. Guillermo Perez, 29, and Walter Ramirez, 19, were arrested and police said they recovered a handgun.
Detectives served a search warrant this morning at the men’s Menlo Park home and produced several rounds of ammunition and a Taser, according to police.
The investigation is ongoing and police are determining whether the victim and the suspects knew each other or had a relationship.
