Looking for bone marrow match for Jeremy Kong

(KTSF by Sean Au)

The family of two-year-old leukemia patient, Jeremy Kong, is looking for a donor match to undergo a bone marrow transplant to help save their son ‘slife.

In June of this year, Jeremy’s mother noticed some purple spots on Jeremy’s hands, legs and chest. After a series of blood tests, the toddler was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Jeremy has undergone two cycles of chemotherapy so far and is currently recuperating at his home in San Francisco. He had endured fevers and stomach pains at the beginning of the chemo treatment. Jeremy needs to undergo a bone marrow transplant to save his life and he has yet to find a matching donor. The Asian American Donor Program is organizing a series of donor drives to register would-be donors. Donor drives are held this weekend in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose.
