Kunming hospital briefing on terror attack victims


The Kunming No. 1 People’s Hospital, which received the most victims after a deadly terror attack in Kunming, capital of southwest China’s Yunnan Province, gave a briefing on the treatment condition Sunday evening.

Twenty-nine people were confirmed dead and more than 130 were injured after the terrorist {attack at the Kunming Railway Station at around 21:00 on Saturday. The injured are being treated at 11 hospitals.

The hospital said it received a total of 71 injured. Twelve were confirmed dead as soon as they arrived. One died during the emergency treatment. Four slightly-injured had been discharged from the hospital.

Fifty-four are receiving treatment in the hospital, ranging from 18 years old to 72 years old. Of them, 12 were severely wounded, with seven in the ICU, it added.

More psychologists will be dispatched by the National Health and Family Planning Commission on Monday to give assistance and intervention.

The Kunming No. 1 People’s Hospital is the nearest hospital from the railway station, around 10 minutes drive, and received the first patch of the victims.
