A multiple homicide in Detroit has detective Alex Cross (Tyler Perry) investigating. Armed with a Sherlock Holmes-type of instinct, Cross deduces the method in which the mistress of a billionaire has been murdered and the motive of the crime. Cross has to stop the psychotic killer before he strikes again.
This feels like an episode of a tv crime procedural. Beyond the cruel ways that the homcides are committed, the movie lacks originality. Credit however has to be given to the casting choices: Tyler Perry, famous for his cross-dressing Madea roles, now puts on a suit, while Matthew Fox from the iconic tv drama series “Lost,” turns bad by playing the psychotic killer. It is refreshing to see the two men take on unconventional roles. Unfortunately,, their talents have been buried under sloppy direction and a lazy script.
