First Lady plans fundraising stop in SF next month

First Lady Michelle Obama will be stopping in San Francisco next month for a fundraising trip.

Obama will be attending a “Women’s Brunch” with Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, on Oct. 13 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco.

Congressman Sam Farr, D-Monterey, is hosting a bus that is taking 40 women from his district to the event.

Farr’s press secretary Adam Russell said the theme of the event is women empowerment.

The reception and brunch at the hotel, located at 950 Mason St., is a fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign

Committee, the campaign arm of Democrats in Congress.
