MENLO PARK, CALIFORNIA (June 22, 2018) – The fabulously fun, kick-back days of summer are upon us and the Bay Area’s popular outdoor festival season is in full swing. For a sun-splashed weekend featuring two days of stellar live music, world-class art by 200 of America’s top artists, fabulous food and drink, artisan specialty food purveyors, home and garden exhibits, health and wellness displays, an organic and green products showcase, and tons of fun for kids, head to dynamite downtown Menlo Park for Menlo Summer Fest, “Hot Fun In The Summertime”, coming up July 21-22.
Presented by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce, Menlo Summer Fest will transform charming, tree-lined Santa Cruz Avenue into a pulsating feast of people and colorful tents for two days of world-class fun in the sun. Take a pleasant stroll and experience downtown Menlo Park like never before – a world-class sampler for the senses. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Festival admission is free.

Big news! It’s the party of the year in Menlo Park and this year we’re bringing it back in a big way as we celebrate the King of Pop! Catch FOREVERLAND, a 14-piece electrifying tribute to the music of Michael Jackson, at the “Don’t Stop ’Til You Get Enough Cool Down Concert” on Saturday, July 21, 5-7pm in Fremont Park, part of this year’s Menlo Summer Fest!
Summer Grooves…Stellar Live Music and Entertainment Everywhere
Get ready – the greatest two days of music Menlo Park has ever experienced is coming. Thirteen top-shelf bands, DJs and music mixologists performing on two big stages and multiple street locations headline the bill. The entertainment lineup includes FOREVERLAND, East Bay Mudd, Cisco Kid, Rock Steady SF, Illeagles, Jack Mosbacher, and The Reikestra on the Facebook Community Music Stage (in Fremont Park) plus exceptional street musicians Heartstrings Music, and Stephen Dreyfuss. The FUNISTA Tropical Beats DJ Tiki Lounge (at El Camino Real) showcases the talents of some of the Bay’s best DJ’s including DJ I-Cue, DJ Luis Medina, DJ Leydis, and DJ Waltdigz.
Pacific Fine Arts brings its world-class stable of professional artists and fine craftmakers to showcase their extraordinary work. Festivalgoers will find thousands of beautiful, handcrafted items by the west coast’s top artists and craftmakers while browsing among 200 well-stocked booths featuring original work in glass, ceramics, metals, fiber, leather, wood, jewelry, and fine art. Exquisite vases, flatware, clocks, dishes, wall and table decorations, paperweights, stained and beveled glass, etchings, sculptures, photography, oil and watercolor paintings, beadwork, gold and silver jewelry, vests, handbags, hats, wallets, footwear, windchimes, and waterfalls will be among the one-of-a-kind items available. Plus the “Summer Vibes” art contest among festival artists and the kid-friendly “Express Your Summerself Color Spot”.
Festival eateries, food trucks and food booths will be serving up deliciously, delectable fare. Coffee-rubbed beef brisket, pork spareribs, herb-rubbed smoked and grilled chicken, Louisiana hot links, hand-pulled pork, sandwiches and classic BBQ accompaniments including corn muffins, slaws and baked beans; grilled Colby jack cheese sandwiches on thick Texas toast; Teriyaki chicken and veggie chow mein, rice bowls, crispy zucchini, chicken and shrimp paella, handmade chicken tamales, burritos,

Fleet Feet Menlo Park’s Run Happy 5K Fun Run & Walk
Join in the fun at Fleet Feet Menlo Park’s free, family-friendly Summer Fest Run Happy 5K Fun Run & Walk starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 22 in Fremont Park. There’s a pre-run warm-up and stretching lead by Fleet Feet coaches and finishers will receive snow cones, refreshments and prizes at the post-run cool down in Fremont Park! The 5k course winds through downtown Menlo Park. The fun run is family-friendly and open to all. Go at your own pace and enjoy the scenery. Dogs and strollers are okay too! Street Closures/Vehicle Parking/Bicycle Parking
Santa Cruz Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from El Camino Real to Johnson Street for the two-day festival. Parking will be available in the parking plazas adjacent to Santa Cruz Avenue, on side streets surrounding the festival area, and at the Caltrain station on Merrill Street. Downtown Menlo Park offers ample bicycle parking racks spread out along Santa Cruz Avenue and adjoining streets.
No Pets, Please
Pets are not encouraged at the festival with warm weather and large crowds. For the safety, comfort, and courtesy of your pets and festival-goers, please leave your pets at home.
The festival will be held on July 21-22 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Santa Cruz Avenue from El Camino Real to Johnson Street in Menlo Park. Admission is free.
