Girls Who Code (GWC) is a non-profit organization that encourages more girls to close the gender gap in the computer science field. Girls will learn to code along with other beginners in an open and accepting environment. In GWC, you will learn how to code animations, games and websites.

For 6th-12th grade female students only.

華埠公共衛生局舉辦加州兒童護理課程

位於三藩市的華埠公共衛生局 ( 前第四衛生局),將於2018年4月份舉辦「加州兒童護理班」課程。這課程符合加州政府托兒牌照局規格,專為在家中作托兒工作者而設。加州政府規定所有家庭托兒工作者必須接受最少十六小時的兒童護理訓練。

在過去多年中,華埠公共衛生局一直為三藩市及灣區的家庭托兒工作者提供中文教授的 「加州兒童護理」 課程。用國 / 粵語教授的課程,將於4月21日及5月5日 (星期六),上午8時至下午5時,在華埠公共衛生局舉行。課程需預先報名,收費為一百八十元,考試合格者,將獲得美國紅十字會証書或美國心臟協會証書。

「加州兒童護理」課程內容包括兒童、嬰兒心肺復甦法;兒童急救技巧;預防性健康與安全;傳染病的預防;患病兒童的照料;預防兒童損傷等等。

Move beyond point and shoot photography with professional photographer Gerry Mooney at a free workshop series at Newark Library on Saturdays. Mooney, a professional photojournalist and photographer who taught at Ohlone College for over 25 years, will teach basic digital camera operations, techniques for taking better photos, and storing digital pictures. Bring your camera and manual for hands-on practice.

James J. Phillips, Probate and Estate Planning Attorney serving Alameda County, will speak on estate planning, trusts, probate, and related tax matters. Two meetings are scheduled. James Phillips is a Certified Specialist in estate planning, probate, and trust law with over 30 years of experience. He holds a Juris Doctorate Degree from Hastings College and a “highest rating of professional excellence” for legal ability and ethical standards by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been included in the Northern California Super Lawyers annually since its inception.

It’s another Saturday afternoon of burning calories at the Fremont Main Library with fitness and dance instructor Mike Quebec. Jitterbug and swing dance to non-stop jump blues, rockabilly and doo-wop! Part of the Fitness at Fremont Main initiative for individuals aged 15 and older, the program begins with a half-hour beginners jitterbug lesson at 1:00 p.m. followed by a record hop dance party.
