Improve your English by chatting with other people about everyday topics in a friendly, welcoming setting at Newark Library on Sundays from 2-3 p.m. This drop-in program requires no registration. All library events are free.

Newark Library is a branch of Alameda County Library. It is located at 6300 Civic Terrace Avenue, Newark, and is wheelchair accessible.  For a sign language interpreter or other accommodations, please contact the Newark Library, (510) 284-0677, at least seven working days prior to the event.

Fire Safety & Emergency Preparedness Fair

WHAT
San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD), in collaboration with Community Youth Center, SF, and Collective Impact/MO Magic, will hold a Community Safety Fair for members of the public in District 5. This fair will include Fire Prevention and Education material, demonstrations, and answers to inspection questions. SFFD EMS members will teach hands only CPR, and our Recruitment team will be available to answer questions related to our Departments hiring process. Free Smoke detectors will be available while supplies last to residents of San Francisco.

12:30-1 PM – NERT PRESENTATION

1:00 – 2:00 PM – Fire prevention presentation by Fire Inspector Juarez

WHY
San Francisco Fire Department’s enhanced Fire Prevention and Education team promotes Fire Safety through Community Outreach and Education. This is an effort to engage the communities we serve with their local Firefighters, EMT’s and Paramedics.

VISUALS
• Live Fire Extinguisher Demonstration allowing for participation of the attendees.
• Fire Prevention Safety Handouts from NFPA, including creating an escape plan in your home and work place, fire extinguisher information and tips such as the PASS acronym.
• An ambulance will be available to look at and walk through with EMS staff.
• A Fire Engine will be present to look at and walk through with Suppression staff

「無煙生活茶話會」歡迎吸煙者或吸煙者的家中成員參加。「茶話會」當日,華埠公共衛生局副局長白幹榮醫學博士及保健教育部團隊,將與大家一起討論華人社會吸煙的情況及原因 ,了解華人對吸煙常見的看法,及認識多種戒煙藥物和方法等。

“National Night out Against Crime” (Admission is Free)

“National Night Out” is a nationwide annual event designed to raise crime prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit and unity,
and foster community-police partnerships.
Participate: 400 hundreds people (Included City of Oakland’s staffs, communities Leaders, Performers, volunteers, neighborhood friends).

Content: Free food, Booths, Games, Singing, Dancing Performance.
