Girl Power Summer Camp

Girl Power offers two summer camps covering the Girl Power Program with fun experiential activities like yoga, guided visualization, free dance, a photo shoot, meditation, creating dream boards, drawing personal gremlins (no experience necessary), painting, acting, enjoying videos and more, all geared to raise self-esteem, encourage and enlighten with themes around the power of choice, being your own kind of leader, etc.

Teens are asked to bring a bag lunch and snacks.

In celebration of the upcoming 18th Anniversary of Oakland’s Red Bean Cantonese Opera, the troupe will be presenting 4 Cantonese opera vignettes and 5 scenes of the mid-length production of the Chinese fairy tale  and legend The Lotus Lantern at the Chabot College Performing Arts Center in Hayward on Sunday, July 27, 2014, starting at 1:00 p.m.  The 4 vignettes are Princess in Distress, The Flirting Scholar, Mulan Prepares for War, and Battle at White Dragon Gate.  Special guests and professional Cantonese Opera artists from the San Francisco Bay Area are being invited to appear with our cast of Red Bean Opera performers.  Total of 37 talented and accomplished performers will take to the stage for the 4 vignettes and the mid-length production of The Lotus Lantern, accompanied by ten of San Francisco Bay Area’s most preeminent musicians.
