Hamlet shares his inner turmoil in a series of soliloquies, including “To be or not to be” and others that have become familiar all over the world.

Audiences of all ages can further their enjoyment of this production by attending “Hamleton”, a fun and informative 15-minute Green Show, 30 minutes before the performance.

On Saturday, the Pistahan Parade will feature elaborate floats, marching bands and colorful contingents as it marches down Market from Civic Center to 4th St. The Festival will include live entertainment, popular balut eating contest, delectable Filipino cuisine, cultural exhibits, hands-on workshops for kids and adults. 11am-5pm.

The Pistahan is an international celebration of Filipino community, culture and cuisine, and will be held on August 12-13, 2017. The Grand Parade will kickoff the festival weekend on August 12, and will march up Market Street, from Civic Center to Fourth Street. The two-day outdoor Festival will take place at the beautiful Yerba Buena Gardens, and is expected to generate an audience of 80,000 people. The Pistahan is proudly produced by an all-volunteer staff and crew of the Filipino American Arts Exposition (FAAE), a grassroots, nonprofit organization based in San Francisco.

The Pistahan is the premiere showcase of world-class Filipino American music, dance, art and cuisine in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our mission is simple: to broaden awareness and deepen the understanding of Filipino heritage and traditions, as well as to spark cultural pride and foster community empowerment. This year’s theme is “Pride and Progress in SOMA Pilipinas” to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of SOMA Pilipinas: the new Filipino cultural heritage district in San Francisco.
