Fremont Main Library
Fremont

Fukaya Room, Fremont Main Library Saturday, September 17, 2016, 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Do you want to “age in place”? Surveys reveal that most Americans want to “age in place,” but what does it mean? And how do we make it happen? Statistics show that 70% of Americans who reach 65 need long-term care for three years on average. What is long-term care? Who pays for long-term care and how much does it cost?

The presentation will discuss long-term care, aging in place as well as health care costs in retirement.

The session is presented by Elaine Wong Eakin of California Health Advocates, an independent 501(c)(3) organization that provides quality Medicare and related healthcare coverage information, education and policy advocacy. California Health Advocates supports the work of service providers, including HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program), the Medicare benefits counseling program.

The Fremont Main Library, a branch of the Alameda County Library system, is located at 2400 Stevenson Boulevard and is wheelchair accessible. The library will provide an ASL interpreter for any event with at least seven working days’ notice. Please call 510-745-1401 or TTY 888-663-0660 for more information.
