Bring and fix your broken small electronics, appliances, bikes, and toys (or at least learn more about them) with the help of fixit coaches on Saturday, February 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. A textile & clothing coach will also be available. We provide the workspace, tools, and coaches. This is an all-age do-it-together (D.I.T) repair event. All library events are free.

Newark Library is a branch of Alameda County Library. It is located at 6300 Civic Terrace Avenue, Newark, and is wheelchair accessible. For a sign language interpreter or other accommodations, please contact the Newark Library, (510) 284-0677, at least seven working days prior to the event.

This program discusses the basic framework of rights and responsibilities under the San Francisco Rent Ordinance. When and how can rents be raised or lowered? Just what does just cause eviction mean? Learn how to avoid common pitfalls and get materials on recently passed legislation. San Francisco Rent Board staff will be available to answer your questions and provide both tenants and landlords with community-based resources. The workshop is provided by SFRB and conducted in both English and Cantonese.

CHINESE MEDICINE DAY
At the Fremont Main Library – Fukaya Room Saturday, March 18, 2017, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Chinese Medicine Day was first celebrated in 1929 in mainland China in the month of March and has since become a yearly tradition. The Chinese medical community of Northern California has observed this important day for many decades.

For this year’s celebration, the Fremont Main Library is co-sponsoring a FREE health evaluation event with American Association of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (AACMA) and Citizens For Better Community (CBC) in the Fukaya Room, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

All are welcome!

Additionally, there will be two bilingual (Mandarin and English) health seminars on the treatment of the following two conditions:

1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., Vertigo
3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Menopause.
