Gilroy Gardens: LUMINATION 2016

As the sun sets, Gilroy Gardens Family Theme Park will be transformed into a dramatic display of spectacular sights and sounds from ancient China. You will be whisked away to another time and place as you stroll through colossal light displays that illuminate over 2,000 years of Chinese history and culture.

These incredible displays—some towering as high as 6 stories into the night sky—include giant dragons, mythical Qilin, and playful pandas, as well as historic landmarks like the Great Wall, Temple of Heaven, and Terracotta Warriors.

This exciting event also includes a bustling artisan marketplace and live performances. Don’t miss this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Creativity Explored, the premier nonprofit visual art gallery and studio for artists with developmental disabilities, presents Natural History, a group exhibition that transforms the gallery into a miniature museum complete with bone sculptures and diorama. In this multi-media exhibition, Creativity Explored artists explore astronomy, geology, prehistoric science, and flora and fauna using a range of art practices including painting, sculpture, drawing, and installation.

Noe Valley Chamber Music’s Classical Kids Concert: Friction Quartet

Noe Valley Chamber Music kicks off its 2nd season of Classical Kids – a new chamber music program for children and their families – with the highly regarded ensemble Friction Quartet. Friction will play excerpts from Beethoven to Janacek, as well as exciting arrangements of pop songs by Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson designed to keep kids moving and engaged.

TICKETS are $15-$40
($15 per person, $40 family pass for up to 4 people Children 2 and under FREE.)

Weaving together familiar tunes and songs from folk, pop, classical and beyond, the Quartet will help young listeners make connections to different types of music and introduce musical concepts to audiences of all ages.
