The Helen Crocker Russell Library of Horticulture at San Francisco Botanical Garden presents Beautiful Relationships: Flora and Fauna from Around the World, an exhibition of nature illustrations by Rachel Diaz-Bastin.

Bastin works in the entomology department at the California Academy of Sciences where she was inspired to learn from illustrators on staff and recently studied scientific illustration at UC Santa Cruz. She is known for her beautifully accurate illustrations of insects. She also illustrates spiders for publication in scientific journals as well as various plants and animals for researchers, conservation organizations, parks, and wildlife centers.

The 58th annual White Elephant Sale, the biggest and best rummage sale in Northern California, returns to Oakland March 4 and 5, 2017. Proceeds from the Sale, which is organized and presented by the Oakland Museum Women’s Board, benefit the Oakland Museum of California. Named one of San Francisco’s Top 100 Events by BizBash, the celebrated rummage sale spans 96,000-square-feet and includes 19 departments, offering a range of quality used goods, including furniture, artwork, household items, china, sporting goods, fine jewelry, Asian collectibles, tools, music, books, vintage and contemporary clothing.
