Family musical theater performed by local youth! Roald Dahl’s popular children’s tale James and the Giant Peach to open the 2017-2018 season. The adventure-filled musical theater production features songs written by the Oscar(R), Golden Globe(R), and Tony Award(R)- winning duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Young orphan James Henry Trotter lives, unfortunately, with his two horrid aunts, in a place as remote as remote can be. Through a series of interesting events, James comes into possession of a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach bigger than his house. His curiosity launches him on a journey of equally enormous proportions as his Giant Peach rolls, floats, and soars around the globe.
$7-$18; youth, senior discounts.
Presented by City of Pleasanton Firehouse Arts Center.

Just two years ago, the SF Board of Education adopted a PreK-12 Computer Science (CS) resolution, committing SFUSD to teaching CS to more than a small number of self-selecting high school students. Now CS classes and related content can be found throughout the district. In fact, 40 percent of SFUSD middle schoolers are already taking the courses, and now a few elementary school teachers are conducting Computer Science lessons. Watch third graders explore the connection between hardware and software with Makey Makeys. Students can creatively design and test electrical inputs to interact with apps — lessons that are a part of learning the new language of the 21st century.
