SF: Elderly woman dies in multi-vehicle crash on I-280


An elderly woman died Monday evening in a collision involving several vehicles on Interstate Highway 280 in San Francisco, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred around after 6 p.m. on the highway’s southbound lanes near the Geneva Avenue overpass, CHP Officer Vu Williams said.

At least one of the vehicles had multiple occupants, with one of them suffering critical injuries.

The woman was taken to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, where she died a short while later.

She has been identified as 84-year-old Xiu Zhou of Daly City, according to the San Francisco medical examiner’s office.

Further information about the collision was not immediately available.
