Earthquake in China’s Gansu kills at least 75 people

Death toll of earthquake in Minxian County, northwest China’s Gansu Province hit 75 as of 18:00 on Monday, according to local authorities.

A 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck at 07:45 on Monday at the border of Minxian County and Zhangxian County in the city of Dingxi.

The quake left 14 people missing, and another 584 people were injured as of Monday afternoon.

Victims of earthquake in Minxian County, northwest China’s Gansu Province are receiving treatment at hospitals.

The disaster cut off communications in 13 townships in Zhangxian, according to the provincial earthquake emergency response center.

In Meichuan Township where the epicenter locates, toppled residential houses are seen on roadside. The relief works are now under way.
