Cupertino home burglary

(This is an excerpt of a press release from Santa Clara County Sheriff)

On July 3rd, 2012, at approximately 10:07am, Santa Clara County Communications received a 911 call from a resident on the 10500 block of Cordova Road in Cupertino. The victim called to advise dispatchers that 2 unknown males were attempting to break into the residence via the side garage door. The victim then updated dispatchers that the suspects did in fact make entry into the residence. The victim hid in her room while the suspects quickly moved around the home taking some belongings, prior to them leaving. The suspects then fled the scene.

Deputies arrived on scene 5 minutes after dispatched (at 1012 hrs) and searched the house but the burglars had already fled the scene.  Deputies then set up a perimeter and had a Sheriff’s K9 Unit respond for a neighborhood search.  Deputies searched the immediate neighborhood for approximately 90 minutes with negative results.  The victim then met with a Sheriff’s sketch artist, who completed a composite drawing of suspect #2. The suspects took jewelry before they fled.  The value of the jewelry is still being determined.
