Traffic is snarled early this morning after a big-rig crashed into the center divide of Interstate Highway 80 in Contra Costa County near Richmond, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash involving several cars was reported at about 5:30 a.m. on Highway 80 between El Portal and Hilltop drives, the CHP said.
A big-rig jackknifed during the crash and jumped the center divide, according to the CHP.
A Sig-alert was issued at 5:47 a.m. with the three left lanes of both eastbound and westbound directions of Highway 80 blocked, the CHP said.
The roadway is expected to be blocked for about two hours.
