(This is an excerpt from a Chinese Hospital press release)
Every year, the Chinese Hospital sponsors a full-day event in honor of an outstanding health care practitioner. The purposes of the award includes enhancing medical services to the community, recognizing the achievement of health care providers, as well as encouraging other professionals in the same field to stride forward and make improvements in medical science and care for others.
This year’s event will be honoring Howard Kyongju Koh, MD, MPH, as the 38th recipient of the Chinese Hospital Annual Award. Dr. Koh is the 14th United States Assistant Secretary for Health for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, after being nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in 2009.
